Happy Anniversary!

Updated: Jul 29

Newsletter August 18, 2025 Together, we're #keepingitsacred...

This is a VERY special week! On Thursday, Keeping It Sacred officially turns FIVE years old! Five years of our very special global progressive Jewish community dedicated to exploring texts, standing for justice, and holding sacred space for one another. Five years of accessible, relevant, and empowering programming for anyone across the world interested in participating.

Just last Thursday, among our participants were people tuning in from Switzerland, Italy, Mauritius, France, Bermuda, Ohio, California, Texas, and Georgia! (see photo below). How awesome is it to study with community members of such varied backgrounds, skills, and expertise, united in the commitment to studying and learning together. Not just intellectual learning, but learning that lifts up the soul. Learning that gives insight and depth to the big and small questions we experience as humans being in the world.

So, this Thursday is a day dedicated to YOU-- all 864 active members of Keeping It Sacred. Those who enjoy the newsletter. Those who join for programs. Those who choose us for holding sacred space at lifecycle events. Those who stand in solidarity with us in social actions. Those who have traveled any part of this five year path with us. THANK YOU! And please join us on several occasions. This Thursday, our actual Keeping It Sacred Anniversary, will present an opportunity to join together for:

Rosh Chodesh Racial Justice Book Review 9:30am/12:30pm ET

Healing Circle 10:30am PT/ 1:30pm ET

Talmud Study 11am PT/ 2pm ET

Confimation Ceremony 12pm PT/ 3pm ET

AND PLEASE JOIN US for our amazing Keeping It Sacred Anniversary Party on October 4 from 10am-1pm online and in-person (the Saturday after Yom Kippur). There, we will gather intentionally for joyful reflection on the past five years traveling this sacred path together. That day will feature:

KITS KIDS Club Singalong Shabbat 10am PT/ 1pm ET

Community Gathering and Brunch (for those in-person) 10:30am PT/1:30pm ET

KITS Birthday Celebration with Cake 11am PT/ 2pm ET

Dancing! 2pm PT/ 5pm ET

Please register for any or all of these programs after adjusting for whatever time zone you will be in at that time at keepingitsacred.com/upcoming (more details below).

And, if you'd like to make a contribution to honor this significant milestone in the life of our community, and to keep our programs running strong into the future, please visit: keepingitsacred.com/our-future

Especially in today's world of fracture and division, it is personally reassuring and motivating to build this global community dedicated to intentionally keeping it sacred with each of you. This is how we're keeping it sacred.

Together, we’re #keepingitsacred
